(for those of you who live in places like Mumbai, will definitely get the vibe… for those who don’t, here is a small preface.. living in urban cities with homes as small as one room, there is very little space available to share life with the closest and most important love one… in life like this night walks often allow a space, time and peace that one seeks for a moment to share how much the other is loved and missed even while being right in front all the time)

On a cool summer evening… after a long day in office and a quick simple supper,

Let’s go for a night walk.

Nowhere fancy, somewhere close by,

Relaxed, calm, maybe to have an ice-cream or kulfi or may be just even a Paan..

Sit on the closed locked showrooms staircase,

Talk for a while, Watch the cars speed by..

When the peace sets in…

You hold my hand in yours, play with my fingers, figuring out the shade of the nail polish I am wearing. You continue to give me the verbal nods on gibberish I am speaking, pretending to be attentive.

And

then something you say, and we giggle sheepishly…

its time to walk back home… you look at me, your eyes adore my face for a moment before we both smile knowingly and get up to walk back home…
